Cyclo DS iEvolution Card Added to NDS-Gear's Lineup!

NDS-Gear are pleased to announce the latest addition of a high-end genuine DS card to its lineup – the Cyclo DS iEvolution!

The Cyclops DS iEvolution card is a premium DS card with a prestigious background from one of the top DS flash cart developers in the industry. Commonly referred to as the Cyclo iEvo, it is the direct successor to the Cyclo Evo card with many added features and compatibility for both DSi and 3DS systems. Skinning is supported and you can tweak other aspects of the GUI to suit your tastes. You also find the usual advanced feature like soft-reset and Real Time Save.

After listening to feedback predominantly gathered from our customers (and a month-long trial period where we made sure we still have completely trackable), NDS-Gear are proud to announce we have changed our relationship with USPS such that our shipping prices are now HALF of what they used to be!

First card shipping: $2.50 (down from $4.95)
All subsequent cards, add: $1.00 (down from $2.00)

In theory we could ship our cards for free if we opted for unregistered, regular mail – but we are committed to making sure every card sent out is trackable and therefore we re-send orders for free if they fail to get to our customers. We have successfully re-negotiated a different rate and have now passed these savings completely onto our customers!

R4i 3DS fixes DSi v1.4.3

There is now finally a fix out for the R4i 3DS for all you DSi owners who have updated to v1.4.3 via Nintendo DSi System Update. If you have already done so, you may need to borrow a DS Lite or previous version DSi to perform the update. There is no fix file to update your R4 3DS anymore, it must now be done through the menu settings. Please see the pictures below after you have installed menu version v1.43b.

Step 1

Install the new v1.43b R4i 3DS Menu software. It is available through our download page here

Step 2

Ensure that your wireless is enabled and connected.

Step 3

Tap the settings icon on the far right.

Step 4

Tap the Upgrade button.

Step 5

Tap the Start button when ready.

Step 6

Wait for the process to complete, may be at least five minutes.

This will get your R4i 3DS card up and running on the Nintendo DSi 1.4.3 update again.

Acekard 2i now works on DSi v1.4.3

Loyal fans of the Acekard 2i will be happy to know that the Acekard is once again compatible with every DS console and firmware version out there.

The Acekard team released a new fix for the Acekard 2i and you can now safely update your DSi v1.4.3 after your Acekard 2i is re-flashed. We have updated our software package with the new .nds flash file here.

The Acekard 2i / Ak2i now joins the Supercard DSTWO as the only two cards we carry that function on DSi v1.4.3.

Netflix Now Available on 3DS

One of the most anticipated features of the 3DS promised at launch was the integration of Netflix. This is now available on the eShop for free (account with Netflix required). No idea yet on what availability of their streaming library will be available, but Netflix has seemed to be unrestricted on most devices that allow it.

This is a huge value addition to the Nintendo 3DS and should look great on the color rich top screen of the 3DS. You can add the Netflix app now, but you might have to upgrade your 3DS to the latest firmware version first. This is not a concern if you own an M3i Zero, Acekard 2i, or R4i 3DS card as they are fully compatible with the latest 3DS v2.1.0-3U.

We now carry the Supercard DSTWO!

This has been a long time coming, but we now carry the sinfully feature rich DSTWO card from the Supercard team. It is available at our shop here for shipping from the U.S.A. The Supercard DSTWO is an ultra-premium Nintendo DSLite, DSi/XL, and 3DS flash cart and to date the only one of our cards that will work on the new DSi v1.4.3 firmware.

Nintendo DSi 1.4.3 Firmware Update Blocks Flash Cards Again

Frustrating times for Nintendo handheld console owners everywhere, unfortunately, as early today the Nintendo DSi 1.4.3 firmware update was released. Do NOT update your DSi console as it will render flash cards (such as our R4i 3DS, Acekard 2i, EZFlash Vi, M3i Zero and iEDGE) temporarily inoperable.

It is possible that because Nintendo needed to release two patches for the 3DS (2.0.0.2 and 2.1.0.3), the 1.4.3 patch could be a compatibility patch to make sure that DSiWare can be transferred freely between the DSi and the 3DS consoles.

Please be patient and do not update your consoles while the manufacturers of the cards come out with patches and fixes.

Nintendo Releases Another 3DS Firmware Update v2.1.0-3

If you own a Nintendo 3DS, you should have the new v2.0.0-2X firmware update by now. The hotly anticipated update included many integral features to the 3DS, not least of which was the eShop. You may not have heard of a firmware update just after that 3DS v2.1.0-3X. If you haven’t, we don’t blame you, it wasn’t heavily discussed. If you have, then you probably have some concerns about it blocking your card yet again. We can safely report that it does NOT block anything. All cards that work on v2.0.0-2 will work just fine on v2.1.0-3.

Apparently this latest update was only a hotfix to address the freezing that showed up in Ridge Racers for customers who had purchased that game. For now, things are safe, just keep an eye out on new updates, and make sure your card will work before updating.

Cards Now Fully Compatible with DSi 1.4.2 / 3DS 2.0.0.2 Firmware

Some great news for Nintendo DS homebrew fans who have been anxiously waiting for a resolution to the ongoing problems of dealing with firmware upgrades!

If you’ve recently bought a new DSi / DSi XL / 3DS console or have accidentally updated your console to the latest firmware, NDS-Gear can now officially confirm all its DSi / 3DS cards work on the DSi’s 1.4.2 firmware. All but the iEDGE also work on the 3DS 2.0.0.2 firmware update as well. The iEDGE will hopefully be updated soon.

3DS 2.0.0.2 Compatible:

Remember, all our cards come individually tested and are pre-flashed to work with the latest firmwares. That said, please don’t update automatically to new firmwares in the future before confirming the card will work to avoid there being a period where you can’t use your card! Simply select “No” or “Later” if your console prompts you to perform a System Update.

Strike with Canada Post: Affects Shipments to Canada

As you may have heard there is a rolling cycle of strikes with employees of Canada Post. We do not know how long it will last, but USPS will not allow us to ship to Canada via their regular service as packages may not be accounted for. They offer one service that is available, Global Express, which is sent through FedEx’s system. Shipping times via Global Express will be very fast and prices start at 35$. Please contact us for further details at sales@nds-gear.com. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but such things are out of our control.

All orders from Canada in the mean time will still be taken, but held until the strike is over. If you require cards urgently and wish to go via Global Express, please e-mail us after placing your order.
